What Avala does not do
Avala does not collect information to infer your physical or mental health, and it does not use health information to advertise health services to you. Arcade does not ask you to record symptoms, diagnoses, medications, or vital signs.
Where health information can still appear
Two different cases matter.
Customer-uploaded data. An enterprise customer may upload medical imagery or other health-related sensor data for annotation. Avala processes that data as a processor, on the customer's instructions, under the Master Services Agreement and the Data Processing Addendum. Requests about that data should go to the customer.
Contributor captures. A home recording can incidentally show something a state law treats as consumer health data, such as a medical device, a medication container, or audio that suggests a health condition. Location from a phone can also fall near a health facility. Avala does not use those incidental details to identify a health condition or to profile you. They are part of Capture Data, described in the Privacy Policy, and the same deletion rules apply.
The Contributor Terms prohibit recording in a medical setting and prohibit recording anyone under 18.
Your choices
You can refuse to record. You can ask Avala to delete incidental consumer health data it holds about you by emailing [email protected]. If an accepted capture has already been licensed, Avala deletes its copies and notifies the data customers who received it, as the Privacy Policy describes. Avala will not deny a contributor payout that was already earned because you made a privacy request.
To appeal a refusal, reply to the decision or email [email protected] with the subject line "Health privacy appeal."
